Thanksgiving has come and gone. It was a blessing, the manner in which total strangers to one another, react in the spirit of the season. Smiles good tidings and seasonal greetings are freely given. Everyone just seems a little nicer to one another around this time of year. The reality still remains; there are still people in need of the basic essentials of life.

The community event at Ansell Gardens Apartments that was held last Saturday was a HUGE success! Even though the weather threatened not to be outdoor event friendly, it did not rain. Even though every year my wife and I wind up participating in several events with our church, attend fundraisers or just purely entertainment events, This event was so very different.

Thank you to those who have made our back to school supply drive a success. We would like to thank those who contributed monetarily and trusted that we would do as we stated, those who handed out our flyers, and those who spread the word for us. Thanks to you we were able to help families at Ansell Garden Apartments in Portsmouth, supplies were handed out at the Grand Opening of Hearts Desire Beauty Salon in Va Beach, and we were able to help some individual families directly. Manna House Ministries, a local non-profit organization, is holding it’s annual Back to School Supply Drive from June 15 – September 5th. We are asking for donations of paper, pencils, backpacks, crayons, scissors and glue as well as financial support.
